Safety Matters

ecoFridge uses a completely fail–safe system to ensure that operatives cannot compromise their safety in any way:

Nitrogen (which is non–toxic and makes up around 80% of the earths atmosphere) is released as a refrigerant into the trailers loading area only when the doors are closed.

Should an operative become enclosed in the load space, an independantly powered disabler switch will instantly close the system down.

As soon as the doors are opened, the O2 analyser and warning system automatically checks the internal atmosphere and will not allow entry until the requisite O2 level is achieved.

ecoFridge enables transporters of temperature–sensitive cargoes to play their part in tackling climate change by eliminating emissions and greatly reducing energy use. And now they can do it quietly too!

Not only is the ecoFridge Nitrogen Conditioning System (NCS) totally harmless to the environment, but also it meets all the criteria of Montreal and Kyoto protocols. Virtually all other refrigerants however, including HFCs (R404A, R410A) and CO2, contribute in varying degrees to environmental contamination and come with considerable decibel output. ecoFridge achieves zero O2 depletion, zero global warming potential and zero noise generation.

Operators who specify ecoFridge can quantify the reductions they achieve in harmful emissions and energy use in order to make a real and measurable impact on their own targets.

O2 Analyzer + Warning System

  • Each compartment has an independantly powered O2 analyser and warning system
  • System safety is computer controlled
  • Using ecoFridge bulkheads, the temperature will remain constant in the front section while operatives can work in the remaining load space
